Questions about exporting groundwater from the Sacramento Valley

The Sacramento River and its watersheds need help if they are going to be restored to sustainable conditions for native species and human society. The next generations will likely only have the same number of species, clean and adequate water, healthy natural forests, great recreation, productive soils and other public trust assets if they are secured by us over the next decade. It is both our responsibility and privilege to make a difference in the many efforts that will advance this mission of sustainability in the Great Sacramento Valley and in the watersheds of all its tributaries.

The environmental community and their recreational and other allies in the Sacramento River watershed have been meeting to develop a united, long-term set of goals, strategies, and principles plus a new organizational structure. The result is the Sacramento Valley Environmental Water Caucus (SVEWC). Anyone who, in general, supports the SVEWC's draft mission, goals, and principles is invited to participate. You can also help by registering yourself and your organization in the public/private directory, helping tell other environmental supporters about the SVEWC, making a donation (see About SVEWC), responding to action alerts and participating in campaigns and committees.

We all benefit from environmentally healthy and recreationally valuable Sacramento River, its tributaries and sub-watersheds. With your help and a united effort through an effective SVEWC and stronger affiliated organizations, we will succeed in this important mission.
