CampaignsAt the October 11, 2003 SVEWC Plenary Meeting, participants unanimously endorsed a number of campaigns that would help advance its mission to “protect and restore the habitat, natural processes, and connectivity that are needed for long term sustainable populations of native plants and animals and advance compatible recreational and land use opportunities.” The SVEWC’s top priority campaign is to Stop the Sacramento Valley Water Raid which is embodied in the proposed Napa Agreement for increasing exports from the Delta and providing the increased exports with water out of the Sacramento Valley. The SVEWC believes that all stakeholders who want reliable and clean groundwater supplies, water for habitat and its recreational benefits, and water for future Valley needs should band together to stop the components of the Napa Agreement as they are now being pushed. In order to provide all stakeholders with better analytical tools and data needed for watershed management and habitat restoration, the SVEWC has endorsed a campaign to Improve the Use of Technology and Data for Watershed Management. The SVEWC also endorsed a campaign to Stop Sites and other Off-stream Reservoirs and the Expansion of Shasta Dam , Protect Groundwater Resources , Remove Unnecessary Dams in the Sacramento Valley. If you wish to propose material for linkage to these campaign web folders, please send it to Kevin Wolf. If you wish to propose a campaign for consideration at the next SVEWC Plenary meeting (March 27 2004), please fill in and send us the form below.
